Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences

Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Science, established in the year 2007 was granted approval by the DENTAL COUNCIL OF INDIA and sanctioned by the GOVERNMENT OF INDIA   with Hundred -intake capacity.it is affiliated to MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY, Kottayam and   2010 onwards affiliated to KERALA UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH AND ALLIED SCIENCES, approved by HON   government OF KERALA. 

     The undergraduate dental training program leading to a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is through four and a half academic years from the date of commencement of the course with a compulsory rotatory internship for one year. During this period, the students shall be the Dental Council of India. During the first four and half years of the undergraduate course, the instruction in clinical subjects should be at least two and a half years. The annual intake of this institution is 100.our college is affiliated to Kerala University of Health Science, Thrissur, Kerala, and Approved by Dental Council of India New Delhi.
 

BDS Department

Our faculty comprises of highly qualified engineers having experienced both in teaching and industry. The department has already started consultancy work in Material Testing and Survey. The Department has well-equipped laboratories with facilities more than those prescribed in the course syllabus. The Department contributes to the interdisciplinary academic and research activity of the institute.
